Procedures - Breast Imaging
Breast imaging is an area of particular excellence of the RIMA group. In contrast to most providers who offer interpretations of mammography and related services utilizing general radiologists, RIMA exclusively provides subspecialty interpretations of these examinations by individuals having completed a one year fellowship in breast imaging following the completion of the their radiology residency training. Given the complexity of modern day breast imaging, RIMA believes that utilizing general radiologists to supervise and interpret these studies is akin to navigating a ship through choppy seas without a captain. The RIMA breast imaging section is composed of Drs. Marie McCombs, Karin Fu, and Sarina Pai.
Breast imaging at all RIMA facilities is done exclusively with state of the digital mammography equipment. In addition we provide the full gamut of ancillary breast imaging diagnostic procedures including breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and biopsy procedures performed under ultrasound guidance, stereotactic guidance, and MRI guidance.
Breast Imaging is currently available in the San Fernando Valley at the Renaissance Imaging Center at Northridge and Mission Community, in the Canejo Valley at Renaissance Imaging Center at Westlake, and in the Antelope Valley at the Renaissance Imaging Center/AVOIC in Lancaster.
